Here in Florida, beach and other outdoor weddings happen everyday. From the time you pick your wedding date, throughout the planning process, and up until the day of...what is the ONE thing that all couples planning an outdoor wedding dread?? RAIN, of course!
Well, is a little rain REALLY the thing we should be dreading?
After looking at that picture, you may begin to wonder!
During the spring and summer months, you are almost guaranteed to see an afternoon shower here in the great state of Florida. And unfortunately, weather is one thing that is out of our control (even if you have the greatest of wedding planners!) So should you be fretting and stressing over a little afternoon shower? Think of all the other things that you could be planning and perfecting. For example, making sure you remembered an umbrella...
...and maybe some brightly colored rain boots, just in case! Instead of praying to the rain gods to hold off on the rain, think of all the ways you can take advantage of a little rain. Clouds can create some beautiful images!
Photographers love the opportunity to take advantage of softer light and beautiful clouds! Take this quote from
Ryan Joseph for example...
"I love the 'atypical' wedding day weather. It adds a little texture to the work that I do. I know it sounds odd, but I get a bit stale shooting in the bright Florida sunshine time and time again."
So when planning your outdoor wedding, stop stressing about the weather, resist the urge to check the weather report 2 weeks before your wedding and everyday there after...and enjoy your planning process! Spend the time putting together details that reflect you and your significant other. And maybe pack that umbrella and those rain boots, just in case!
